Canna Botanics was right at the forefront of the CBD revolution in the UK when it was legalised in 2018. The customer wanted to emphasise the natural essence of their product range and the fact that it was extracted using cutting edge pharmaceutical techniques. They were also very conscious of avoiding any obvious negative connotations with their overall branding. So subtlety was key.
Their also packaging had to hold a huge amount of relative data to the specifics of the extraction process and purity to comply with the legalities of selling in the UK as well as look appealing.
By making a simple geometric representation of the leaf of the plant as the logo paired with a deep green hemp colour, we had a strong foundation for the overall theme of their branding.
We then used commissioned illustrations throughout the background images, both on the website and packaging to add a sense of depth, quality and a natural overall feel.
With being a fresh startup the client had a limited budget. So with that in mind we knew that the website was going to have to be quite basic. But by using simple parallax effects and a strong use of typography we still created a strong presence for them online.
