Shopify websites, Leeds

A Shopify shop that sells, not just a theme with your logo on.

We're Sam and Rob, a small Leeds studio. We build Shopify shops around how your customers actually buy, set up the boring bits behind them properly, and hand you something your team can run without ringing us every week.

Sound familiar?

  • What the shop saysShop the collection.

What's actually happeningIt's the theme's demo layout with your photos dropped in.

  • What the shop saysFast, secure checkout.

What's actually happeningEleven apps bolted on, and the page takes an age to load.

  • What the shop saysNew season now in.

What's actually happeningNobody's touched the homepage since launch.

Easy to launch. Hard to make it sell.

Shopify makes it easy to get a shop online. That's the good news and the problem: thousands of shops look exactly the same, because they're the same theme with a different logo, and a stranger can't tell why they should buy from you rather than the next one.

Then the apps pile up. Reviews, upsells, pop-ups, wishlists. Each one sounded sensible, together they slow everything down and cost a monthly fee each.

So we start with the products and the people buying them, and build the shop around that. The theme does the heavy lifting; the bits that make it yours are where the work goes.

Fixes for a shop that isn't selling

We find where people drop off and why, then sort it: navigation, product pages, speed, checkout. Sometimes it's a rebuild, often it isn't.

  • Speed
  • Conversion fixes

Moving to Shopify

From Wix, Squarespace, Etsy or WooCommerce. Products, customers and orders brought across, and every old web address redirected so Google doesn't lose you.

Product pages that do the selling

Photos, sizes, delivery and returns where people look for them, written so they answer the question before it's asked.

  • Product pages
  • Product copy
  • Photography direction

The setup behind it

Payments, shipping rules, tax, the apps you actually need (and none you don't), and training so your team can run it.

The honest bit.

Shopify isn't always the answer. If your shop needs to work in a way Shopify won't bend to, WooCommerce might suit it better, and we build both. Direct Lighting Supplies, our biggest shop, runs on WooCommerce because that was the right fit for it. We'll tell you which one suits yours before you spend anything.

And a nicer shop won't fix a product nobody wants. If that's the real problem, we'll say so.

How it works

  1. Talk

A short call. You tell us what you do and what the website isn't doing. We tell you straight whether we're the right people for it.

  2. Dig

Free. We look at your website, Google and socials the way a stranger would, then send you a straight report on what's working and what isn't. No pitch, no quote.

  3. Map

We turn what we found into a plan: what the site needs to say, which pages it needs, and in what order. You sign it off before anything gets built.

  4. Build

We write it, design it and build it. You see it come together and sign off each stage.

  5. Grow

Launch isn't the finish line. We watch how people actually use the site and keep improving it.

  6. Flourish

Once it's settled, we step back every so often and look at the bigger picture: what's changed, what's next, and what to sharpen.

Want a Shopify shop that earns its keep?

Send us a link to your shop (or tell us about the one you want to start). We'll have a proper look and tell you what we'd change first.

Website projects start at £1,500, and most land between £2,500 and £5,000. Shops usually sit higher, because of the products, payments and apps involved, so you'll get a proper quote once we know what you sell. Shopify's own monthly plan and card fees are on top, and we'll help you pick the right plan.

Shopify is simpler to run and everything's hosted for you. WooCommerce sits on WordPress and gives you more control. We build both and we'll recommend one based on the shop, not a preference.

Yes. Often it doesn't need rebuilding: tidier navigation, better product pages, fewer apps and a faster homepage can make more difference than a new theme. We'll tell you which it is.

Yes. Products, customers and orders can usually come across, and we redirect the old web addresses so the pages Google already knows keep their place. There's more on how we do that on the website migration page.

Almost certainly not. Plus is for shops doing serious volume. The standard plans cover nearly every small and medium shop, and we'll tell you if you ever outgrow them.

Either of us. We can load the catalogue for you, or set it up and train your team to do it. Most people end up doing a bit of both.
