Websites for artists and makers
Websites for work that means more once you know the story.

Sam and RobDialekt, Leeds
We're Sam and Rob, a small studio in Leeds. We build websites for artists, makers and the people looking after their work, where the story matters as much as the objects.
Sound familiar?
The usual portfolio siteA grid of thumbnails.
What the work deservesEach piece given proper room, like a gallery would.
The usual portfolio siteAn About page nobody reads.
What the work deservesThe story as the spine of the whole site.
The usual portfolio siteA template everyone else uses.
What the work deservesSomething that feels like the work.
Remarkable work. Nowhere to see it.
Some work only really lands when you understand the person who made it. The patience, the life around it, the reasons behind the pieces. Put it in a standard portfolio template and you get the objects without the person, which is half the point gone.
A portfolio shows the work. A good site tells you why it matters.
So we build around the story. A journey through the life or the practice, a collection that treats each piece with the seriousness a museum would, and the plain practical stuff (enquiries, sales, exhibitions) handled quietly in the background.
What you get
The story, told properly
The life or the practice as the backbone of the site, with archive photos brought to life where it helps.

A gallery, not a grid
Collection pages with proper space around each piece, closer to a catalogue than a portfolio.

- Photography direction
Beyond the website
Exhibitions, print and the longer plan: getting the work in front of the people who should be seeing it.

How it works
- 1
Talk
A short call. You tell us what you do and what the website isn't doing. We tell you straight whether we're the right people for it.
- 2
Dig
Paid discovery, where we get properly under the skin of the business, the customers and the competition. The fee comes off the project if you go ahead.
- 3
Map and Build
We plan the pages, write and design them, and build the site. You see it come together and sign off each stage.
- 4
Grow
Launch isn't the finish line. We watch how people actually use the site and keep improving it.
